Snow leopaed

Snow leopard(panthera uncia) it's local name was hiuna chituwa . Snow leopard population in nepal is estimated to be in the range of  350-500, which snow leopard population. Recently it has also been recorded in Mt.everest region.

Snow leopard live between 9,800 & 18,000 ft above sea level in the rocky mountain ranges of central and south Asia. It's also an environmental ambassador for nation parks or protected areas, and as an indicator of a healthy mountain ecosystem.

Generally snow leopard wighting between 27 and 55 kg, but the mature male reaching 75 kg and small female under 25 kg. With the tail adding body length ranges from 80 to 100 cm. 

Snow leopard have long thick fur, and their base color varies smoky gray to yellowish tan, with whitish under part. And with small sports of same color on their head, legs and in their tail. Unusally among cat , their eyes are pale green or gray in color.
